*243* Thunderbolts - Dust On My Needle / Something Else

No ! there is no dust on my needle ! (I'm not just posting this for fun ! - I really really like the B-Side track !!!)

A-Side : 'Dust On My Needle'
B-Side : 'Something Else'

*242* The Vandells - Ruby Toot / I See Everything

Never heard the B-Side before. Now I'm a little bit disappointed. Too much Pop, I'm missing the Powerpopish awesomeness of the A-Side !

B-Side : 'I See Everything'

*241* Sunny Jim Band - Maximum Pain LP

Let's come to my first long-player posting ! I want to dedicate it to Sunny Jim Bands' first LP release - Maximum Pain.
I remember I downloaded 'Plastic Lips' (maybe their greatest track!) about ten years ago from the Mod Pop Punk Archives site ... but over the years I forgot about it ... till I bought this LP some weeks ago.
Just recorded my favorite tracks, so buy the record if you are interested how the others sound like (you will get it for next till nothing @ ebay!) :

A-Side :
  'Bedside Radio'
  'Plastic Lips'
  'City Life'
'Why Don't We Do (What Other Lovers Do)'
B-Side :
  'Held Hostage'
  'Willy's Girl'

*240* Here Comes Summer - Child vs. Ron Ellis

Today is not June 21-- the summer officially begun more than one week ago -- but let's listen to the old Jerry Keller number 'Here Comes Summer' in two cover versions by Child and Ron Ellis :

Child - Here Comes Summer (I Can't Explain)
Ron Ellis - Here Comes Summer

Actually Child's version is a mix of The Who's 'I Can't Explain' and the Jerry Keller number.

But now let's come to the interesting facts ! - Who is Ron Ellis ? He is not only a songwriter, poet and author - in fact he is THE guy who released the fantastic 'For The Boys On The Dole' on Lightning Records under the name "Neville Wanker & The Punters" back in 1978 !
Check out Ron Ellis' web site here.
