*153* The Mutants - I Say Yeah / Cafe Au Lait

Yes! here we have THE Mutants from Detroit, which wrote the hit 'So American'.
This is their second single, released one year later in 1978.

A-Side : 'I Say Yeah'
B-Side : 'Cafe Au Lait'

A Life performance of 'Cafe Au Lait' you find here @ Youtube (and if you take a look around you will find some more live shots ...)

*152* Little Bob Story - Hot N' Sweaty

Great rockin' sweaty number on the B-Side : 'Hot N' Sweaty' !!!

A-Side is the well known classic 'All Or Nothing' which is already posted here @ Youtube. Fantastic cover version I think, Little Bob Story did a great job here !

*151* Fran Barrie - Stole All My Love / Lost In The Crowd

Ok, this is (like some other of my posts) neither Junk nor Gunk nor Punk ;). I just post it because I really like the A-Side !! - Fran Barrie - 'Stole All My Love' / 'Lost In The Crowd', released 1979 on the Vibes label. Seems to be the only release of this label. Discogs says about the A-Side track : "Backing by A Local Group Who Wish To Remain Anonymous (actually Steroid Kiddies)." :)

Fran Barrie's actual name is Fran Raya and she has an official website here : www.franraya.com.

*150* Q-Tips - Some Kind Of Wonderful / A Man Can't Lose

I have already posted the Q-Tips - 'S.Y.S.L.J.F.M.' single here.

Here some more great stuff : 'Some Kind Of Wonderful' / 'A Man Can't Lose'. Enjoy !

(A-Side is a cover version of a song written by John Ellison, recorded first by the Soul Brothers Six in 1967. Check infos about this sing here.)

*149* Athletico Spizz 80 - Hot Deserts / Legal Proceedings

Here we have a later Spizz single, released in 1980:

A-Side : 'Hot Deserts'
B-Side : 'Legal Proceedings'

*148* Spizzoil - 1989 / Fibre

Ok, 'No Room' was watched very often, so I want to post some more Spizz stuff !

Here we have the two B-Side songs of Spizz's first single '6000 Crazy' - 'Fibre' and '1989'.

A-Side is already uploaded here and there.

*147* Spider King - Animals / Would You Wanna Die For England

No much to say here - released in 1981 on the Test Pressings label - The B-Side is fucking great !!!

A-Side : 'Animals'
B-Side : 'Would You Wanna Die For England'

(Download Mp3s here.)

*146* Richard And The Taxmen - Honey Please Don't Go

'Honey, Please Don't Go' is the fantastic B-Side for the Power Pop killer 'Now We're Through', which is already posted here. Maybe you know the A-Side from the V/A compilation Break The Rules #9.

(You can download Mp3s from the great mylifesajigsaw blog with two additional tracks : 'Chinese takeaway' & 'Ice skating Rita')

*145* Charlie Fawn - Blue Skies / Dream World

'Blue Skies' is a well known number from the Shake Some Action (Vol.8) compilations series. In my opinion Charlie Fawn's greatest song ! (Discogs says) 'Blue Skies' was also released as a B-Side on the 'One In Three' single.

A-Side : 'Blue Skies'
B-Side : 'Dream World'

If you are interested in some other Charlie Fawn tunes then take a look at these Youtube uploads : 'Step By Step' and 'Hothead Handshake Tremble'. Both songs appeared on the Charlie Fawn self titled album in 1979. (Maybe this is to much Pop for you ;) but I like it !)

*144* Suzanne Fellini - Love on the phone / Bad Boy

A video of Suzanne Fellini's TV show appearance performing 'Love on The Phone' you can watch here.

A-Side : 'Love On The Phone'
B-Side : 'Bad Boy'

Ok, you can say there is to much Pop in it, but it comes with enough New wavy Power pop so that I really like it ! Personally I prefer the B-Side !

You can download the LP digivinyltal.blogspot.de and this single from the fantastic shortsharpkickintheteeth blog.

*143* The Chords - One More Minute / Who's Killing Who ?

When I was young, I never realized the greatness of The Chords, they were just "ok" for me. But this changed over the years ...
Here we have the sixth single, released in 1981, which comes with nice Mod Revival sound:

A-Side : 'One More Minute'
B-Side : 'Who's Killing Who ?'

*142* The Squibs - Parades / Out On The Town

I guess the B-Side I know since years from some V/A compilation(s) - it is a great Power pop / Mod number !!
But what's about the A-Side ? Not as good as the B-Side but a nice slow number I think.
At the moment I don't know if I ever have heard the Squibs first single 'On the Line' - Where I can find it? (PS: here)

A-Side : 'Parades'
B-Side : 'Out On The Town'

*141* The Bombers - I'm a Liar Babe / 2230 AD

Released by Dave Goodman in 1978 on the "The Label" label.
Mmh don't know why, but I like their sound.

A-Side : 'I'm a Liar Babe'
B-Side : '2230 AD'

(Posted already on the shortsharpkickintheteeth blog, there you can download the Mp3s.)
